Abstract

Objective To study the technology of anodic oxidation without chromate acid and sealing the oxidation film without dilute chromic acid. Methods The anodic oxidation film was prepared in the boron sulfuric acid anodic oxidation solution containing different rare earth salts, and then sealed in solutions containing rare earth salts. The film quality and corrosion resistance of the films were comparatively analyzed. Results Adding rare earth A salt into boron sulfuric acid anodic oxidation solution could improve the anti-corrosion property of the oxidation film, and sealing the as-prepared anodic oxidation film with rare earth C salt could further improve the anti-corrosion property of the oxidation film. This film could be intact after being placed for 336 h in NSS environment. Conclusion The boron sulfuric acid anodic oxidation modified by rare earth A salt and sealed by rare earth C salt is expected to replace the chromic acid anodizing technology.
