Abstract

Objective To improve the effectiveness and visibility of metal shield. Methods Using nano composite plating technology, carbon nanotube was distributed on the surface of metal mesh. The microscopic structure, shielding effectiveness and visible light transmittance were then tested and analyzed. Results Carbon nanotube was evenly distributed on the surface. The shielding effectiveness was improved by 3 ~ 5 dB in the range of 10 kHz ~ 1 GHz. The visible light transmittance was reduced by 5% and the metallic luster was removed. Conclusion Carbon nanotubes could simultaneously improve the shielding effectiveness and the visibility.
