Abstract

The anodic films on aluminum alloy were obtained by anodizing, and some films were sealed by boiling water . The effect of current density and sealing on the microhardness of the anodic film on aluminum alloy was studied using microhardness tester, scanning electron microscope ( SEM) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy ( EIS) . Results indicate that as current density increases, the microhardness of anodic film on aluminum alloy first increases and then decreases. Boiling water sealing results in the decrease of the film microhardness. The surface morphology, porous layer structure, and shielding performance of the anodic films are in correlation with the film microhardness.
