Abstract

The rare earth ions of Y3+, Nd3+ or La3+ was doped in acidic Ni-base electroless bath respectively, then the effects of RE on the bath stability and deposit rate and coating organize structure, as well as microhardness and corrosion resistance of coatings were studied. The results show that RE element with a little amount doped in the electroless bath could increase the bath stability and deposit rate, where the effect of Y3+ is remarkable while that of La3+ is worst. At the same time, RE used in electroless deposit could make nickel grain smaller and raise microhardness and corrosion resistance of coating availably.
