Abstract

The surface of polyethylene material was fluorinated under different fluorination temperature and time, the scanning electron microscopy and X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer were adopted to analyze thickness, smoothness and fluorine content of polyethylene material’s surface fluorinated layer. Its results show that the thicker fluorinated layer of polyethylene material, the more non-uniform surface and the surface’s smoothness is worse. With the increasing of temperature and time, the surface’s fluorine content of fluorinated layer is increasing, but when temperature is enhanced, the fluorine content increases only a few, it relates with the thickening of fluorinated layer, which inhibit the fluoridation.
