Abstract

The friction and wear properties of WC-CoCr coatings and SiC as counterparts under lubrication were analyzed. The effect of loads and dry conditions, diamond grinding paste conditions, oil conditions on the friction coefficient and wear rate were studied, and the wear mechanism was investigated. The results show that: under oil conditions, the friction coefficient and the wear rate of the coatings are both the lowest, and the friction coefficient is changed around 0.1; under diamond grinding lubrication, the friction coefficient is lower than dry conditions, the wear rate is 1.52124×10-6g/m, 2.68 times higher than dry conditions, the lubricity is bad; Extrusion marks are found on the surface of coatings under the dry conditions, and the wear mechanism is adhesion and slight cutting, while the three-body abrasion is the main under the diamond grinding pastes conditions.
