Abstract

Infection and recovery problems after bone implantation have long limited the clinical application of bone implant materials such as magnesium alloys. In order to better meet the clinical needs, the work aims to prepare a Cu2+-containing magnesium alloy coating with Mg-6Zn alloy as a substrate by adding copper nanopowder based on a facile micro-arc oxidation process. The surface morphology of the coating was characterized with a ZEISS EVO MA15 scanning electron microscope and a ZEISS EVO MA15 energy spectrometer. The corrosion resistance of the sample was tested by an AUTOLAB PGSTAT302 electrochemical workstation. The value-added rate of the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells of rats was evaluated with a Cell Counting Kit-8 kit, and the biocompatibility of the sample was assessed through observation of the adhesion morphology with a Nikon A1R laser confocal microscope. The Cell Counting Kit-8 was employed to assess the value-added rate of osteosarcoma cells in rats and observe their adhesion morphology via the Nikon A1R laser confocal microscope, thereby evaluating the anti-tumour efficacy of the sample. Calcein/PI Cell Activity A Cytotoxicity Assay Kit was employed to stain the vascular endothelial cells of rats, and a Leica inverted fluorescence microscope was used to observe their adhesion morphology, thus enabling an evaluation of the vasculogenic ability of the sample.
