Abstract

As a crucial medical treatment modality, artificial joint replacement has gained extensive utilization in addressing joint aging and pain. However, the service life of artificial joint pairs is predominantly constrained by the friction and wear characteristics of the material surface. Prolonged usage of artificial joints often leads to loosening and detachment, exacerbating patients‘ discomfort. The work aims to fabricate a composite structure by integrating surface texture and DLC film onto the titanium alloy surface of artificial joints to investigate their frictional and wear properties. Moreover, the underlying mechanism governing the tribological behavior of DLC film on textured TC4 titanium alloy surfaces will be elucidated, thereby providing theoretical support for innovative design of artificial joint interfaces.
