The work aims to study the feasibility and anticorrosin performance of building mixed-modified copper alloy super-hydrophobic surface. Copper alloy was used as matrix and a simple chemical etching method was adopted to prepare the super-hydrophobic copper alloy with silver nitrate solution as the etching solution in the ethanol solution mixed with myristic acid and n-dodecanethiol. The surface properties and structure of super-hydrophobic copper alloy were characterized by contact angle measuring instrument, XRD, FTIR, SEM and EDS and the corrosion resistance of low surface energy composite film was investigated by Tafel curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. From the results, hydrophobic long chains of myristic acid and n-dodecanethiol were assembled on the surface of thin silver layer, in which the binding form of myristic acid and thin silver layer was double-dentate bridging compound mode. The surface morphology of super-hydrophobic copper alloy was composed of micron dendrites and nanoscale papillary structures. At the same time, the surface water contact angle of the material reached 157.4 degree super-hydrophobic level. In addition, the prepared super-hydrophobic copper alloy surface had good chemical stability and corrosion resistance. The surface of all samples still showed super-hydrophobic level after being immersed in water, organic solution, NaCl solution of 3.5wt.% for 2 d. According to the calculation of Tafel polarization curve fitting parameters, the corrosion inhibition efficiency reached 83.9%. It is feasible and effective to prepare super-hydrophobic copper alloy surface by mixing two kinds of low surface energy materials and the composite film has excellent corrosion resistance.
