Abstract

The work aims to meet market demand of low-emissivity coatings by preparing low-emissivity coatings and discussing effects of filler and matrix resin on infrared emissivity. The low-emissivity coatings were prepared with Al powder (325 meshes, 500 meshes, 800 meshes, 1000 meshes, 1200 meshes, 1500 meshes) as filler, and acrylic resin (AR), epoxy resin (ER) and polyurethane resin (PR) as matrix resin. The infrared emissivity was studied in terms of matrix resin type and viscosity, Al powder particle size and content. The PR coating exhibited the lowest infrared emissivity in 8~14 μm band, hence it was the best choice for low emissivity coatings. The infrared emissivity of coatings gradually decreased as matrix resin viscosity increased, and variation trend was approximately linear. Optimal particle size of Al powder within the research scope was 325 meshes, and the infrared emissivity of coatings decreased as the content of Al powder increased. The low-emissivity coatings prepared exhibits low infrared emissivity, which is environmentally friendly.
