Abstract

The work aims to ensure that auto corrosion resistance meets market demand and requirements of vehicle intensive corrosion test by developing systematic vehicle anticorrosion development process and requirements for parts anticorrosion. Vehicle accelerated corrosion test was performed to verify actual corrosion resistance of parts subject to different anticorrosion requirement; vehicle anticorrosion development principle and easily corroded structure were also elaborated based on SE analysis. 240 h salt spray test could meet the vehicle requirements for parts anticorrosion in engine compartment, 10 cycles cyclic test could meet anticorrosion requirements for exterior metallic-based parts. The corrosion potential risk could be removed in design stage by SE analysis. In order to evaluate vehicle corrosion resistance, it is essential to accumulate market corrosion data, vehicle accelerated corrosion rest data and components corrosion test data, and then establish consummate verification and evaluation standard system to achieve target anticorrosion requirements for vehicles under development.
