Abstract

Objective To study the scraping resistance of AlSi polyester coating and obtain the influence of rotation speed on abradable resistance. Methods AlSi polyester coating was fabricated by APS, and scraping tests with three rotation speeds were carried out by self-made machine. CLSM, SEM and EDS were adopted to investigate the effects of blade rotation speed on scraping resistance of AlSi polyester coatings. Results With the different rotation speeds (4000 r/min, 4500 r/min and 5000 r/min), scraping depths were 100 μm, 200 μm and 360 μm respectively, and surface roughness were 47.3 ?m, 53.712 ?m and 57.778 ?m respectively. Compared with the former, scraping depth of the latter two increased by 100% and 260% respectively, and surface roughness increased by 13.6% and 22.2% respectively. With the increase of rotation speed, the microstructure of AlSi polyester coatings presented "smooth belt and fine rough line", "smooth belt and rough strip" and "smooth belt and rough belt" respectively. Conclusion The levels of micro cutting and three body type abrasive wear both become more serious with the increase of rotation speed, which are the main reasons for different scraping resistance.
