Abstract

With the wide application of metal materials in all walks of life, The corrosion of materials is becoming more and more prominent. It not only shortens the service life of the engineering structure, and increases the maintenance cost, but also directly affects the safety of the use of engineering facilities or equipment, and even endanger human life, resulting in a huge risk. The corrosion phenomenon of metal materials is quite common, which is widely found in soil, air, marine and oil fields, having received more and more attention. Sulfate reducing bacteria(SRB) is one of the most important kind of corrosion microorganisms. They are usually adhered to the surface of solid metal or other materials and form a complex biofilm, which can cause serious corrosion damage to metal materials. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the corrosion of SRB in metal materials. The characteristic of SRB was introduced. The effects of material factors ,environmental factors (chloride ions, iron ions, magnetic field and temperature etc.) and other factors(pH, oxygen content,CO2,flow velocity etc.) on SRB influenced Corrosion were analyzed. Three kinds of control measures antisepsis techniques was detailedly introduced by SRB, including physical methods, chemical methods andbiological methods. The existed problems and the further direction of research in microbiologically influenced corrosion were discussed.
