| Objective To study the rust-transforming effect and the corrosion resistance of the rust-transforming coatings.Methods The change in impedance of the rust-transforming coatings with time was tested by Electrochemical Impedance Spectrometry and the morphology was observed. The corrosion resistance of rust-transforming coatings and the matching property were assessed. The salt-fog resistance and the adherence were assessed by salt-fog experiment and the corrosion section around scarification was observed. Results Rust-transforming coatings had good effects on rust transformation of rusted carbon steel, and the corrosion resistance of rust-transforming coatings was good, which matched well with the priming paint and had a high adherence on the surface of carbon steel. Conclusion The rust-transforming coatings showed good rust-transforming effect and corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance of carbon steel was improved. |
