Abstract:
      In order to find new inhibitors of carbon steel corrosion, polarization, AC impedance methods were used to study the inhibition effect of ATA and the complex of ATA and PASP for carbon steel corrosion in 3.5% NaCl solution, and the corrosion morphology of carbon steel was investigated after immersion in 3.5% NaCl without and with the complex separately. The results indicate that ATA has great inhibition effect for carbon steel corrosion, and it is a cathodic inhibitor, especially at the ATA concentration of 25 mg/ L, the corrosion inhibition efficiency is up to 93.51%. The complex of ATA and PASP shows synergistic effect for carbon steel corrosion, furthermore,at the ATA concentration of 15 mg/ L and the PASP concentration of 10 mg/ L, the complex shows the optimum inhibition effect for carbon steel corrosion, and the corrosion inhibition efficiency highly reaches 99.89%.
