Abstract:
SiC abrasive wear test was carried out into the Ni-based alloy coatings before and after heat treatment. The phases and the component contents of the coatings were analyzed by XRD and EDS, respectively. The surface morphology of the coatings after abrasive wear was observed by SEM. And then the mass loss of the Ni-based coatings was determined by electronic balance. Based on the results, the mechanism of abrasive wear of the coatings was discussed, and effect of heat treatment on abrasive wear of the coatings was analyzed. The research shows that, before and after heat treatment, the phases of the coatings are both composed ofγ-(Fe,Ni)phase as the matrix and Cr-rich phase as the precipitates. The mechanism of abrasive wear of the matrix transfers from the slight cutting and ploughing to the fatigue fracture, while the precipitates are fell off as the brittle fracture under the action of the hard SiC particles. Heat treatment can improve the plasticity of the matrix of the coatings, and thus improve the wear resistance of the coatings.
