Abstract: |
Hydroxyapatite is one of the most hopeful biomedical materials. Hydroxyapatite/titania ( HA/Ti02) composite coatings on the Ti6Al4V alloy were obtained by electrophoretic deposition process. Zeta potential was used to determine the content of triethanolamine and HA/Ti02 particles in the stable butyl alcohol suspension. The effect of the deposition voltage and the deposition time on the macrostructure and the deposit yields of HA/Ti02 composite coating were studied. The appropriate depositon voltage for fabricating a uniform and dense coating was in the range of 250-350V. The results indicate that the influence of deposition time on the electric field strength give rise to a two linear deposit weight gaining stage. |
