Abstract: |
High velocity oxy-fuel sprayed WC-12Co and NiCrBSi composite coatings were irradiated by kaleidoscope installed YAG laser. The laser power and the scanning velocity employed from 2kW t0 4kW and lOmm/s, respectively. Scanning electron microscope was used to examine the composite coatings. In order to optimum technology parameter, the laser power effect on hardness and wear resistance of the carbide composite coatings were investigated. The results show that there is metallurgical combination interface between composite coatings and substrate. The highest microhardness and density of composite coatings are also enhanced when the laser output power increases. The wear-out rate of irradiated spray coating is lower than that of the HVOF spray coating. |
