Abstract: |
A new spraying technology called Cold Gas Dynamics Spraying process ( CGDS) , is developed based on aerodynamics recent years. It uses a low temperature supersonic gas jet ( typically below 600℃ ) to accelerate unmelted solid powders over a critical velocity at which particles impact on the substrate , deform plastically and mechanically to form the coating. Comparing with thermal spraying processes, CGDS may minimize any changes of the micro-structure, such as over-heated, oxidation and grain growing-up. The principles, features, mechanisms and parameters of the CGDS were presented. The research processes on cold-sprayed nano-structured coatings were involved. |
