Abstract: |
The work aims to improve the hardness and wear resistance of TC4 alloy. The Ti-based composite coating was prepared on the surface of TC4 alloy by RFL-C1000 Raycus fiber laser. The macroscopic morphology, microstructure, microhardness and wear properties of the cladding layer were observed and tested by SEM, XRD, EDS, microhardness tester and friction wear tester. When Ni60/h-BN content was 25%, the surface flatness ratio of the cladding layer was the best and good metallurgical bonding could be obtained between cladding layer and substrate. When Ni60/h-BN content was 5%, phase of cladding layer was mainly composed of Ti2N0.3, TiC and α-Ti. When Ni60/h-BN content was 15%, the content of Ti2N0.3, α-Ti and TiC decreased, while that of Ti2Ni increased. When Ni60/h-BN content was 25%, Ti2Ni, TiNi, TiN, Ti2N0.3, TiB, TiC and α-Ti were evenly distributed in the cladding layer. At this time, the hardness of the cladding layer was 997HV0.5, which was about 3 times of that of the TC4 substrate (332HV0.5). The wear mechanism of the TC4 substrate and the cladding layer were abrasive wear and adhesive wear, respectively. When Ni60/h-BN content was 25%, wear appearance was the best, the wear mass loss was 0.6 mg, and the friction coefficient of the cladding layer kept stable between 0.51 and 0.52. When Ni60/h-BN content is 25%, the microstructure of the cladding layer is uniform and compact and the hardness and wear resistance are significantly improved than that of the TC4 substrate. |
