Abstract:
      The work aims to obtain better corrosion inhibition effects by complexing mannich base inhibitor with common compounds. The corrosion rate of corrosion inhibitor before and after complexed with KI, thiourea, pepper oil and hexamethylenetetramine was measured by static weight loss method. The changes of AC impedance and polarization curves for corrosion inhibitor before and after compounding were measured by electrochemi cal method and the mechanism of corrosion inhibitor was discussed by isothermal adsorption model. When the corrosion inhibitor of 50 mg/L was used alone, the corrosion rate was 6.94 g/(m2∙h). As the concentration of KI, thiourea, pepper oil and hexamethylenetetramine increased, the corrosion rate of the metal gradually decreased. When the concentration of the compound was 100 mg/L, the corrosion rates respectively dropped to 4.22, 3.69, 5.97 and 3.28 g/(m2∙h). Through the polarization curves, the corrosion inhibitor was a kind of mixed type corrosion inhibitor mainly depressing cathode before and after compounding. The adsorption model of the corrosion inhibitor on the metal surface before and after the compound was added did not change and was Langmuir isothermal adsorption. The ΔGθ of the corrosion inhibitor adsorbed on the metal surface was respectively –26.1, –25.3, –26.8 and –27.4 kJ/mol after KI, thiourea, pepper oil and, hexamethylenetetramine were added, which indicated that both physical adsorption and chemical adsorption of corrosion inhibitor existed on the metal surface. Corrosion inhibitor has good synergistic effect with KI, thiourea and hexamethylenetetramine.
