Abstract: |
Silicon carbide ( SiC) coating on the mesophase pitch-based carbon foam was produced by a pack cementation technique and the effect of SiC coating on the oxidation resistance of carbon foam at high temperature was researched. The difference of anti-oxidation behavior of carbon foam with SiC coating or not was studied by TG analysis. The structure and profile micrograph of anti-oxidation coating were observed by SEM. The oxidation resistance of SiC coating was tested in the atmosphere at 1 200℃ . The results show that the SiC coating improves the anti-oxidation property of carbon foam. With increasing of the thickness of SiC coating, the oxidation resistance property of carbon foam also increase . |
